wanted-Yellow crew cab bed

Post by RebelKid1822 »

my bed is rusting away, front bottom and front rail are gone, i cant find a decent price on just the floor of the bed, so i figure ill just look for a complete one b4 i start a hard core welding project. lol i wanted to try and save my bed because the sides a fenders are perfect, but i cant find the pieces i need.

I don't see any yellow ones close to you. Plan on spending about $1000 for the bed and $800 for a cheap paint job.

well for that price ill ijust make mine work lol. i got access to another bed thats bigger that i can cut the floor from, ill just weld that it. since it will just be the bottom and underneath of the bed liner i can just paint it myself. i was hoping to find one round 300 or so, but i gues that may be a fools hope lol. i will just repair what i have, and if and when the day comes, ill just make a sweet flatbed out of it.

I didn't mean to scare you off. You might find a bed for $400 or so and paint it yourself?

Any place that sell Loctite products. I get mine at NAPA locally.
Shoot the frame with a self healing rubberized undercoating product. Ask around locally for what works best. I am spoiled with a high desert climate. Other than a little chloride for the roads in the winter, minimal salts. Rust is not a real problem here.

Sure, until you have to repair one.
Keep the salt washed off. A wise man here once suggested parking with a sprinkler under the truck to wash the underside. Sounds like a good idea to me :)

Rebelkid1822 I have a bed for sale but it is Blue. It came off of a 2004 I'm pretty sure. The bed has about 2,000 miles on it. My uncle bought the truck new and stretched the frame 18" and put a 6' bed on it with the dually adapters. He made a mini crew cab dually. The bed is about as perfect as it can be. Everything is there except the tailgate. If you are interested you can e-mail me at pro65goat@gmail.com I live in Stafford Virginia and delivery can be a possibility. Let me know. Thanks
