Post by Donnie »

Installed aftermarked fog lamps, but what I want to do is hook them up to insure they go off when I turn the truck off, any ideals

Fog lights

Post by Taylorized »

All you have to do is
Get a test light and got to the fuse panel
turn on the key test the fuse of your choice and see if it goes off when you turn the key off.
I would use the radio or park light fuse.
Find the fuse and remove it.
Strip your power wire or go to auto store and get a blade terimal and install with your fuse.
Test and your done

I would suggest using a multimeter. The days of using a test light are long gone. They put too much of a load in voltage sensitive circuits. A multimeter is a much safer , for the system, way of testing.

Jumping a fuse is not the best way to do things. I have chastised more than one for doing things like that.

Do it right and take the time to add a circuit from the back side. Be sure to fuse it appropriately.

There are a couple good threads here on adding fog or back up light wiring and the relays that are involved.
