Post by jflatley »

When I hit the brakes the hazards go full and don't blink anymore?

Happened on teh old ford but don't remember how I fixed it.

Sure seems like that is SOP.

That's how mine work. Wasn't aware they might be expected to work differently on our CC's. Your old Ford probably had a cross-shorted brake light bulb. Common problem on them.

I'm a little puzzled here. Does this mean when you engage your hazard lights, then hit the brakes, they stop blinking ? :?: 8)

The hazard light switch cycles the brake lights on and off, if you depress the brake the lights are activated full time instead of intermittently and overrides the hazards. I don't know about other vehicles but every Chevy I have ever had displays this behavior ( up to the Tahoe which I have to visually verify since the signal lights still blink when the hazards are on and the brake is depressed.)

I've always had to manually turn my hazards on with every
Chevy truck I've ever owned, but only during an hazardous type situations of course. :?

On my 88 S10 Blazer when I press the brake pedal my hazard lights will stop flashing, however my 05 Blazer hazard lights flash even when the brake pedal is pushed down.

I guess GM changed the override feature on the later models?

Does your 05 have separate brake and turn signals?

My wife's malibu does the same thing. It's a design thing. Your brake lights override the hazard lights. Not an issue, just made that way.
