Bad power window motor

Post by Rockrz »

I searched and couldn't find where the power window relays are located.
(mine is '03 ext cab, but maybe it's similar to crew cabs for this)

My passenger side window is working fine, but my driver's side
window is dead. Since I'm keeping the truck long term, I went
ahead an installed a new switch in the driver's side door since
alot of these switches go bad after 6+ years (my truck's age)

I did look at both fuse blocks and there's no fuses marked power window,
so can I assume there are inline fuses and relays that manage the
current for each of the power windows?

If so, would they be under the dash somewhere, or in the doors?

OK, so it ended up being the motor being weak due to
the regulator making a bunch of noise and apparently
it was too hard for the motor to turn any more.

With the unit out of the truck, it would work but
made some abnormal sounding noise so it must
have been worn out.

It's much smoother and quieter now...

New motor/regulator installed and all is right
in my S10 world again 8)
