Jet SCU2000 question

Post by Walt »

Hey guys, I found a programmer made by Jet Performance, called an SCU2000. It only works up to 2001 model Chevy trucks. At $130, I'd rather buy it than a PP3, because all I want to do is adjust shift points, tire size, and top speed. The SCU2000 has all that but doesn't adjust timing or anything else.

Jet Performance says it will work with a 2001 S-10, any thoughts? I have an 01 CC, but I'd like to make sure before I get it.

Thanks!

Ok, got a little info from Jet Performance on the SCU2000.

1. It will work with an 01 CC (and possible up to 03).
2. It will remove the top speed limiter
3. It was designed for the full size GM trucks, so it will only go one inch larger than the stock 235/75/15 tires on the S-10
4. It adjusts shifting points automatically according to gearing and/or tire size, so no independent adjustments.

So it sounds like you pay $130.00 to get the top speed limiter removed  Not quite worth it.

After more research, I've found that the SCU2000 will do everything advertised, it can be used to change to multiple tire sizes and/or gear ratios on our trucks. The bad news is that Jet only guarantees it to work with a 2001 Crew :x
