clear corner lights

Post by kegrill »

I need to replace my drivers side turn signal/fog light after it being destroyed. I have been thinking of getting a pair of clear ones ( for half the price of the stock one with fog light). I'm wondering if they make them with fog lights or if I could use the wiring for aftermarket lights later. If so do I only use one bulb per signal?

The APC clear corners that I have do not come with the fog lenses. You must use your factory lenses installed in them.

Are your fog lamp lenses OK?

If you opt to delete them, I don't know why the wiring could not be used for aftermarket lights.

Hi,
Yes the fog lamp is the only part that survived. The back tabs that fit into the grille are broken though.

Have you made a decision on what you are going to do?

I have been "mulling" this over, and may have some more options for you , if you are not already committed to another direction.

No, I haven't made a decision. I'm leaning towards clear corners and after-market fogs. I'm open to options though.

Good decision. The clears w/o fog are everywhere and cheap.

That also means I don't break up my spare set :D

I would add a relay to operate the aftermarket lights that you add if you exceed 55w per lamp. The stock wiring should be able to handle the load to that point. Adding a relay at the bulb connector should be easy, and you can run a wire up to the accessory stud in the electrical center to supply it.

Yup, it was a deer. It still amazes me that the bug shield didn't get a scratch.
