"Pilot" brand driving lights

Post by mjmcdowell »

Hello all... thinking of getting these 55 watt aux. lights, they don't seem to bad.... after all even the pricy name brands are made overseas, these have a plastic housing-no rust....... anybody know anything about them? I don't have a need for anything long distance just for some fill in once in a while but I don't want junk, What say? stay safe, mjmcdowell

It sounds like the ones im running on my blazer. Check out my avatar to confirm.

I bought a set and ran them for a while then dropped one and broke the glass on it, I was never able to find a replacement so i went and bought another set. I put the new set on keeping 1 extra for a spare and thank god that i did. I bumped one of mine and snapped it off at the base so i had to put the spare on.

Oh ive been running 100 watt bulbs in mine since i put the 2nd set on. If you do this do NOT try to run them with the wiring harness they provide because it cant hanndle it, I made my own also putting a relay in the circuit with 10gauge wire.

Long story short they are ok but the plastic does get brittle.
