Replaced Wheel hub assy. ABS now on

Post by davitg »

Hi All,

I am assuming the sensor on the new hub is bad. I see the sensors sold separately, how do I change the sensor? The one on the old hub is fine and would like to swap it out. I really don't want to change the hub again.

It has one allen screw, and what looks like a rivet. Is the rivet just a pin?

From the FSM and not much help.
Remove wheel speed sensor mounting clip on the control arm.
Remove wheel speed sensor mounting clip on the frame rail.
Disconnect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector (2).
Remove the sensor mounting screw (5).
Let me know if you can see the image. I doubt that this will work.

Welcome Dave
You have it right. Remove the allen bolt and that is all that attaches it to the hub assembly. The pin is a locator to correctly orient the sensor. There is an o-ring that seals it and the sensor extends down in there nearly and inch. Well, probably less than that , but you know how fish stories go ;)
Easy swap. Sort of a pain to get out as it is in there deep enough that the dust shield for the brakes gets in the way , IIRC?

Yep. Looks like it is ported from a sever. Not accessible directly from the internet.
