Cold weather problem ?

Post by Horsehammerr »

Went out and warmed up my CC yesterday , 8" snow on drive and everywhere , pushed 4Hi and got click sound but not engaged. Tried 4Lo , same thing. Tried park, N, R, moved back and forth, nothing. Let warm up 'bout an hour and tried back and forth 4Hi to 2Hi and finally connected. Any Ideas why ? Never did this before ,even at -6 degrees. :?:

It’s probably just the cold weather playing games with your truck. My guess is the vacuum gizmo on the front axle was frozen.

Your probably right, I'm thinking just cold stiff lube on joints and cable. Once it engaged I just left it. Supposed to get to 45-50 degrees today , so won't need fourwheel assistance.
