Post by MinnesotaMudder »

Has anyone put a 350 small block V8 engine in there CC or is it not possable. I was just thinking after my V6 goes out i would put a V8 in. if its possable can anyone tell me where a good place to look for one.

Anything is possible, given enough time and $ (mostly the $)...

Given the number of 350's that have been installed in many S-10's over the years, and I don't see how there'd be much difference in the engine compartments between a standard cab and a crew-cab, I'd say it's certainly an option. However, you will have many issues to face. For me, I don't see MUCH advantage, given that with just a few minor mod's my CC lights up the tires even with a modest load on the back end. Plenty of power without the excessive fuel consumption that is going to happen with the V8.

If you're into opening up cans of worms, have at it.

$2500 will get a good start on waking up the stock V-6.
How much power do you need? Will it be a toy or daily driver?

Its going to be a daily driver, but when winter hits we get snow by the foot. Also i hunt and go through some tough trails, and i have seen some people get stuck out there with full size trucks.

Horsepower is not what you need first then. You need tall tires. The $2500 will cover the MML.
That is a good place to start.
For a daily driver skip the BIG HP mods. Some small increases are nice, but a V-8 or supercharger means a lack of dependability in a daily driver. The cost vs benefit just doesn't work out. Now once you go SFA, the door starts opening to the big HP increases.
