Watch out for Wallyworld AC filters

Post by Jim »

Wallyworld PF52 on the right, engine knocked twice when started hot and hot oil pressure was below 20 lbs. $ 2.50 each
AutoZone PF52 on the left, put it on, no knocking, higher pressure
Wally's is 1/2" shorter and feels like a tin can, I had 6, 5 went back, 1 in the trash.

Shame on AC for supplying junk :x

Good to know as I have been using those filters. I only have 1 left in stock and guess I'll be looking for a new supplier.

Maybe FRAM & AC/Delco are using the same manufacturer. FRAM filters are known to collapse and plug up because of cheap materials & poor construction. K&N, Royal Purple, & Mobil 1 are high quality filters.

I Got Warned About The Fram Filters On This Board A Long Time Ago, Now All I Use Are Either K&N Or Mobil 1 Filters.

I'm using PurOne on my Tahoe by Purolator, I heard they are good.

I used to use their filters on my old school cars & never had any problems.
