Front Drive Shaft Question

Post by MinnesotaMudder »

I have had my 6'' SuperLift on my CC for 2 years now and i have went through 2 front drive shafts. my mechanic said the lift is stretching the shaft and i will have to get a custom shaft. Has anyone else had this problem with a 6'' lift? Should this be happening with this lift that i have? If i need a custom shaft what would the cost be?

Check out a "Tom Woods Driveshaft"

SAS done - PICS

Paul linked his driveshaft mods in that thread : NP233 fixed front output modification

Also check out Coast shafts. Tom Woods has been getting bad revues lately with customer service but, I have no personal knowledge. The best thing to do, IMO, is use the Woods site for a guide to taking measurements. Then call Tom at TW, Bill Paul at Coast, HAD (high angle drivelines), similar shops and your local one for estimates. I prefer Coast because they will rebuild them all day long for $50. Next you need to do your research on greaseable ones versus sealed one. Pros and cons to each!
