Front diff

Post by PATRICKH »

Does the drive shaft from the transfer case to the front diff turn all the time or only when 4wheel is engaged?

Sounds like a stupid question, but still tracking down vibration issues in the front end.

It should only be engaged when the transfercase is in gear , or the front axle locked. It will free wheel, or float otherwise. Reach underneath. You should be able to turn it by hand if it is not engaged.
