wheels

Post by Blacknoma »

Hey guys, not sure where to ask this...

The American Outlaw II clone stocker wheels that were discontinued around 95, they will fit a 03 right? I want to keep stock wheel dimensions.
I am pretty sure they will but something is telling me that the center hub hole is smaller on the old wheels or something like that... thoughts?

What's the dimensions of them? If they are 5x4.5, I'm sure they'll fit. 15x8 with 5 inch backspacing is what I run and they work fine. As for the center hole, well, stock wheels don't have a big center hole. As long as it'll fit over the center of the axle shaft on the back, I'd think it would fit over the end of the shaft on the front. Backspacing is what I'd look at though.

Yeah, I'm not in America and I don't have any wheels to compare to.
The rims I am thinking about are stock 4x4 wheels from GM that were offered from the 80's until the mid 90's. I am pretty sure they will fit but wanted to know if anyone knew off the top of their head.

I don't have photoshop or even know how to use it... all i have is MS paint, so forgive my awful computer work... =]
This is what I'm thinking about doing...
Taking some of these:
Image
Stock 4x4 s-series wheels from the 80's-90's. 15x7 with 6" backspacing. They came on the baja's and were available on other trucks.

And painting them black and yellow (flame yellow? to match the truck). Painting the rivets and the lug-nuts yellow and the rest of the rim black. like this:

taking the truck from this:

to this:

Anyone done this before? I have seen them painted all black but never with any accent color.

I saw these wheels on a zr2... so they should fit.

I will probably be going this route and selling my ZR5's around Christmas? :D

Maybe just a slight misunderstanding on how to measure the lug pattern. You need to hook one lug and skip to the third lug, measuring to the center of the third lug. Easy mistake, if you measure center to center you will get right at 4.5 inches, simply add a 1/4", which is very close to half the thickness of the lug and you get the right 4.75 measurement. Really ,all S-10s are 4.75 lug spacing.

I know, Stucky said 5x4.5

I know the lug pattern is 5x4.75 but I also know either 1st gen or 2nd gen s-series had a larger center hub so wheel swapping required a bit of modification (bore out the center hole) but I can't find which ones had the larger hub. Thats what I have been asking on this thread. lol. sorry for the confusion.

I had them on my 2005 blazer. I thought the chrome centers were enough accent.

Looks sweet man! Thanks for the pics!

I guess that answers my question. The 1st gen had the larger center hub so 2nd gen wheels would need to be bored out to fit.

Thank Blaz!
