My Winter Wheels

Post by T Man »

After pricing ZR5 wheels on line out of curiousity, Ive decided to keep them in the garage this winter and throw on a set of stock 4wd aluminum wheels. Not wanting to be like every other 4wd s series out there I masked and painted them a gloss black to match the rest of the truck. A 99 cent can of spray paint actually produced a pretty decent result, and it almost has me wanting to paint my grill (I hate the argent color) Anyway, I couldnt decide if i wanted to keep the center machined or paint it black, so I did one of each. Decided to go with the all black look, and did all 4. I had my roommate mount the tires up this morning in class and today here in about 10 min a buddy is putting them on the truck. Ill have pics of them with my 31's here in about an hour. Anyway, here are the wheels.

Nice touch. I like the aluminum center, but seeing them on the truck may be different. Did you paint the center caps too?

I just sold my stock wheels to a guy in Utah. They are traveling to Wyoming where he will pick them up. I am pretty sure they will be snow wheels for his BlaZer2.

Not too shabby! What about a trip to the hardware store for some escutcheons? That or the salvage yard to gather some caps.
