Am I getting senile or has this disappeared from the home page?

Not sure what you are referring to. There have been several threads on the subject. Barch had some good photos that are long gone from one thread.

This explains it : Technical aspects of wheels

I guess that I am senile then. It was in the mod section or here or so, I imagined.

Probably should be. There was a good post on this topic that is now full of broken links to pictures that no longer exist.
I recall a good page from a Jeep website too. We should probably put together a page for our stock section sometime.

That's the only page I've been able to find that actually lists the stock wheel offset...

Everything else is either "about this much" or tells you how to figure out the offset if you go measure your wheel :D

So, the chart on that page is wrong about offset then. It shows a 7" wheel with 6" backspacing having a 51mm offset, unless I am reading it wrong.

You're not reading it wrong. That sounds about right to me.
Remember offset is the distance from center line.

All I have to say is that the newer members are doing an awesome job at researching.

Meet you at the rest area at Slade. I need a few inches of lift first though :P

Back to the chart, our info says 63.5 offset here. Which is right?

You tell me...
That way I know that you know what offset is.

I'm going with 2.5 inches. 6(bs)-7(w)/2 = 2.5" =63.625mm. Maybe we should tell them they are wrong over there?

Ya know, I solved this problem yesterday, now I'm just killin time....

I'm with you. You found it , you tell'em ;)

At least you understand the concept and how to figure it out yourself. That is better than any chart :thumb:
