2in body lift + Flare question.

Post by DeiselRed »

Hey im just wondering what would be the best reputable 2in BL for the ZR-5?

And for the fender flare extension to fit 33's. If you do the Skidz Cut Out's. What flares can you get to fit over the cuts?

Thanks.

Either the BDS or Performance Accessories kit are basically the same. There are no flares available at this time for the cutouts, the guy who made them stopped years ago and the few left in the wild are hoarded by those who keep them around as spares. Occasionally a set shows up in the classifieds but be prepared to pay quite a bit. At this time the option after the cuts is to coat with sealant/undercoating others will know exactly what they used.

I just installed the PA 192 kit on my zr5. Worked great.

The PA 192 worked great for me, too.

I want to make the cuts, and I am also wondering what to do to finish it off. Has anyone tried one of these wheel well trim products?

I just did the fronts cut with mine, and did not finish it with anything but a file and one of those touch up mini bottles of paint from the parts store. Mine looks great, (Personal opinion). Followed the same directions, only for the fronts, as those for the cut out flares, but really careful not to slip, knowing that this will be showing. Can take pictures if interested.

I took an inch and a half off following the Skidz Cut Out Flares instructions. I only did the fronts because the 31s that I have fit nicely in the back.

Looks good.. I don't see a pop rivet at mid point. I don't want that one. Did you just put one on the bottom? Where did you get the cut line from. Just a guess where to cut or is there a template for this cut?
