I have tons and tons of experience in running larger tires on a ZR2 and regular 4wd blazers (95 and 04). What I don't have experience in is ZR5's.
I know 31's (Goodyear Wrangler Authority Wally-Word Specials) can fit on a blazer with a little massaging with a big hammer on stock wheels with no fender rub with no bumb-stops (even totally stuffing it). I also know 30's (BFG KO's) can also run with a very very small t-bar crank to stock level with no rub at all with stock bump-stops.
I know supposedly every truck is a little different as to what can and cannot fit perfectly, but If I were to throw a ZR2 axle with Boise SW kit the rear and max out my t-bars up front with 31x10.5's (OD of the exact tires I am looking at is 30.7").
Will the rear flares need some trimming and are they held on the same way ZR2 flares are?
I have a good estimate on what I would probably have to cut up front metal wise, but no sure about the ZR5 flares... And I really have no clue about the Crew bed with ZR5 flares... never looked at one in person before. (thats mostly what I am asking for help on)
The truck will never do any crawling, just a little mud in the yard if at all... It will be in South Texas near Corpus Christi on a farm (the flattest landscape I have seen in the world (and I have traveled quite a bit) so stuffing probably will never happen.
Should I stick with everything stock @ 235/75r15's or MML without a BL and bump up to 31x10.5? (30's is not an option for me due to the boring tread at the cost I am looking at)
I would like to retain some MPG's but not be up a creek when I find a 6" hole in my side yard when dragging an implement/trailer.
As always, all info/thoughts are much appreciated!
