Update on the Jimmy Diamond Edition

Post by SlickDaddy »

Well the good ol boys at GMC told me that I needed a few things to get a Diamond Edition Grill Guard.

First I needed the VIN off of one cause GM wont ship them without knowing its actually going on a Diamond Edition

Second the guard itself will set you back $800! By the time you get the bracket and all the hardware its over $2000!

So I went over to the junkyard and the guy laughed at me when I asked for one, so if anyone wants to come over with their socket wrench and help me jack up my neighbor one that, that would be great.

Also, just a little something to think about...

My dad was at a Penske Chevy here in Indy placing his order for a 50th Anniv. Vette in that burnt orange color, anyway they had a 2WD S10 with all the trimmings including GMs grill and brush guard - dumbest thing I ever saw...

WOW ,I had no idea they were worth that much  I let the one on ebay go when it got to $200

Do you have a pic of one?

We need to get everybody to keep there eyes open , I'd like to have one too.

P.S. if you find someone to help you, you might as well send it to me ;) It might look a little suspicious if it showed up on yours

Along the same line, I'd take one of these

If it is local for you , Joseph , and you have the time. Could you check to see if they still have the grille guard w/brackets, its condition and how much they want for it?

I would definately be interested , if Slickdaddy doesn't want it.

Illinois is a long way to ship it (for me), but it might not be too bad.

NM. I found a pic. I've seen one around my town.

Acording to edmunds.com, it was a 400buck option for the grill guard. Seems pricey that it's 2k now.

Diamond Edition Grille Guard

Post by Lee »

I've seen one of the Jimmy Diamond Editions up close. This guy pulled up to my lumber canopy at work to have some stuff loaded in one. It was SWEET!! Besides the grille guard, it had these sweet diamond stitched leather seats.

Ok this is what I finally settled on...

Picture

Made the long addy a link-HJ

Also the bracket has two sets of holes, so if I get the 2 inch lift I can raise it also. Its made by MAAP and cost about $350.

There are a few shots, plus a few others of my mud flaps, and a shot of the switch for the light inside
