My 2002 Crew cab and new skid plates

Post by wilkes86 »

Well this is my first post on this forum, but I have been reading around here for a while and there is a lot of good info. I've got an 02 crew cab with some mods for minor wheeling. Just got a front carbon fiber skid from Brule and engine plus transfer case skids on ebay and put them on today. So I thought I would post some pics and introduce myself.

On with the pics.

Mods so far are
Marvelous myster lift with 1.5 inch tbar crank, Boise spring works kit, 1.5 inch daystar shackles, rear air shocks, and 2 inch body lift
31x10.5 toyo open country A/T's on cragar soft 8's
Herculiner front and rear bumpers and stripe along the side.
KC daylighters in front bumper
ARE Truck cap

It's been enough for me to do some minor wheeling here in Kentucky. I'm located in Lexington, KY and go to the Red River Gorge area very often so i've gotten familiar with the wheeling spots and have found good stuff for my level as well as stuff way over my ability. I'd love to wheel with anyone on this forum and maybe get a ride together for the Red River Gorge area.
My truck has gotten to a point where it seems like I either need to do a SFA swap to do the harder trails or just get a different rig that is easier to modify. I'm not really sure what to do after the mods i've already done.

Any comments or questions welcome.

Are you satisfied with the front valance being coated in the liner? Thats a good idea - those things are pretty flimsy.

The truck looks great!

Wilkes,

How's that Herculiner holding up? I'd like to do my bumpers and nerf bars.

Thanks for the help.

Looks like we have another "one post wonder".

From what I have read, the herculiner stuff is okay but, not very durable. Rattle can Duplicolor bed liner is popular in other forums for touching up after banging against rocks and I have to agree. If, I win the lottery, I would go with with LineX in the areas that I need.

Pass on the Herculiner. Art did it on his truck. When he came over to put shields on , I checked it out. It was already nicked and peeling in places. UV had dulled it pretty fast too.
I was not impressed and neither was he.
