This is the latest addition to my RIG! GoPro Hero 3 Silver Edition. I was waiting for the Black edition, but it is in high demand and there are a few freezing issues. I figure I will use the Silver and upgrade (buy another) when the time comes. I am learning the camera as well as the movie editing so I will keep everyone posted on my skills (or lack there of).

Now there is no excuse not to take more back country pics.

One of my friends just got one for christmas and loves it. I was wondering if there was a way I could attach it under my car to record suspension travel. I want to see where a noise is coming from in my GTI. Of course I would have probably a thousand other uses for it also but that was the first thing that came to mind.

Some of the baja gents use them for that all the time. Two advice pointers I got was get the best possible mount and put a tether on it just in case.

Played with the GoPro a bit on the week end.

First real attempt at anything.

Same vid as before, just in 1080p this time. I am still learning a few things. Remember to change quality if it isn't crystal clear.

Still need to work on my editing skills and remembering to set up the camera.

The first blazer is my buddy's ZR2. The second blazer is mine, the E locker acted up a little but it is working now.

Remember that the gear looking thing on the bottom right allows the vid to be watched in 1080P.

If it makes you feel any better, I'd of had to bounce up that with my jeep :D

Something that seems to work good with my open diffs, when forward progress has stopped and especially if a tire is in the air, is to push the brakes to try to get the opposite tire to get power. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but man, when it does...

Trucks look good. What's the scoop on the full size Chevy that came up at the end?

Once I realized that the locker wasn't locked I had no issues.

The full size is a 2500 with dana 60 front and 14 bolt ff rear on 40" irocs.

Funny that you use the brakes that way, because thats pretty much how the new ESC stuff on newer cars controls traction on a FWD when a wheel starts to slip. Granted most of them have EDL or some kind of crazy setup. My GTI uses this method for traction control but I often find myself turning it off when the situation needs such as driving in snow or when I need to make a launch.

In other news I just got a GoPro myself last night for my road trip. Hope to make some cool videos with it along the way.
