Just digging up an old thread,

I got my letter last week on my 2002 S10 crew that was not included back in 2007. Now that it has been fixed for 5 years I will tell the "rest of the story" on what I did. I have a 2001 that is the same color. I had replace the cables on it before the special policy ever came out. When I was denied coverage on the '02 because the VIN didn't match their list, I waited a few weeks then swapped tailgates. With the '02 tailgate on the '01 truck, I got it fixed. Came home and swapped them back.

Bad thing for me is... The cables are the least of my worries. My tailgate is damaged, partially due to cable and latch issues. AND, I smashed up the front of my bed with my dads 150 gallon water tank, even pushed in the cab slightly :(. Guess the good news is, this puts a jump start on a need for a restoration project ;),
