2003 RPO Engine - What's the dif?

Post by marks10cc »

Okay, so the 2003 V6 4.3L is an LU3. The ONLY info I can get on it is it's an MFI instead of a CPI fuel injection system. Any of you '03 guys out there know what else is different? What is the difference between MFI and CPI?

Most importantly... Should I have bought an '02?

BTW, the LU3 and L35 engines have a new TSB: 02-06-04-059 Unfortunately, I can't get to the 'meat' of the bulletin. I don't even have the 19.95 to pay AllData :? Anybody hiring?

I think the M means Multipoint fuel injection. Probably the only benefit is better fuel burn which means better smog numbers.
