Rear of center console

Post by green02crew »

I have a rectangular hole in the back of my center console. It was there when I got the truck. I am assuming it was an ashtray? I checked some blazers at the yard but they were the earlier 2nd gen and didn't have anything there. Does anyone have pics of this and know where I could get one?

It's not an ashtray or a cup holder just a plastic plug that fits into the hole you see. some people brought it up in an older thread:

GM musta had a half baked plan for it :?:

Interesting, I wonder where I could come up with a cover or ashtray as I have gone to the yard and could not find any blazers that had something in that spot :?:

That would be awesome thank you, might it be part #3 in this diagram? It is listed as "pocket"

Well I called around and found the part. Its apparently $11 for that stupid cover plate. Oh well its only $11. But it is not number 3 in that picture above, that was an added option supposedly?? I've never heard of nor seen it before I guess it is just a "pocket" for stuff that goes below our hole. I am assuming it was for the blazers but I am not positive. Atleast my truck will be whole again!

Or it will be until it goes missing again. The plastic tabs on mine cracked with the cold and that's when it started falling out, the only reason it isn't completely gone is the 12v power port I hooked into mine so it just dangles there till the weather warms up enough to glue it in.

Pessimist! Haha that might have been what happened to it in the first place? Time will tell.

Got the part in the mail today. Part #12472803 lists at about $9 on gmpartsdirect just in case anybody wants to ever order one, it is hard to narrow it down to find the part number.
