encoder motor/transfer case motor

Post by blks10 »

Hey guys. Just signed up to your sight. Quick qestion:

I was browsing through 4x4 problems(because i have one), and noticed that the term "encoder motor" was used a lot. Is this another term for transfer case motor? I ask because I can not find part info on a encoder motor.

thanks

I believe that would be correct. This the the motor that shifts the transfercase.

Yes. Sort of a black plastc cylinder shaped piece near the bottom front.
