Motor oil and filter

I have been running Mobil 1 and a Mobil 1 filter since i bought the truck. Is this the best way to go or should i switch to royal purple I have heard allot of good things lately about there products I know allot of it is price and personal preference I was just seeing how you fellow cc's feel?

i would stay with what you use now. SYN. Oil with any name on it is protection enough for our motors. I use Mobil 1 oil and a WIX filter and have no issues...going on 5 yrs now.

The oil and filter that you are using are both good choices. I run Royal Purple in my SS and sometimes in my ZR2, however @ nearly 2 x the price of Mobil 1 it is very hard to justify. K&N and Royal Purple also make excellent oil filters.

I use valvoline conventional and ac delco filters, pf52, the large filter. Never had an issue, nor has my dad.

I have used Valvoline max life 5-30 and fram extraguard filters for 4 years now and no issues.

I would start using the Mobil 1 with the gold cap, I think it is the extended mileage one. I've read a bunch on oil and filters and it has focused me on that gold cap and my feeble old mind can't recall why. I just know that I focus in on the caps now. You don't have to go longer between oil changes unless you want to.
