found a toolbox to fit the crew!

its a dee zee chest style toolbox found it a tractor supply . it fits perfect between the fender wells its 37 inches across and its 19 inches wide pictures will come tomorrow

Look forward to seeing it. Do you have plans for stabilization? I used bed bugs for mine.

yeah it came with 4 self drill screws there pretty heavy duty . . ill probly put bolts trough it at some point but the self drill screws wil work for now . . eventually im going to mount 6 fishing rod holders to the box and a 102 inch whip for my cb to the toolbox :rock:

That fits the width nicely. It looks like the lid is just above the bed rails. That puts a cover out of the equation. A Softopper would still work fine with a box like that if you need cover on the back.
Looks good. A nice size to carry lots of stuff 8)

It looks like a load bar might fit between the fender wells to hold it forward for someone who wanted to be able to remove the box periodically. That does nothing for security though.

One thought would be to mount eye bolts , or a set of hood pins in the bed and set the box on them to secure it. Then pull the pin from the inside to remove the box when the need arises.

yeah the top is out of the question i have a hard top for the bed that came on the truck when i bought it but i took that off the day i got it lol i do kinda like your pin idea i may put some thought into that and see what i can come up with . . but then again the box wont come out untill next huntn season so may just leave it the way it is for now

yeah i like those the only thing that would concern me is how tight it would keep the box to the bed i dont want it jumping and ratteling around in the bed u know

Put a rubber shock bushing under the box. Cut it to fit just higher than the bed ribs. Push down to insert the pin. The rod is adjustable. Most don't like their hoods rattling either.

If you go to lowes and look at there small truck tool box with the angle sides.its the 60 inch. They fit perfectly in the crewcabs
